NCT ID NCT06554301

First seen Nov 17, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This early-stage study tests whether empagliflozin, a drug used for diabetes, can help people with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). PAH causes high blood pressure in the lungs, making it hard to breathe. About 72 adults will take either empagliflozin or a placebo daily for 12 weeks to see if it lowers lung pressure and improves heart function. Researchers will also monitor for side effects.
