First seen Jan 23, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study tests a 6-week program called Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) that teaches parents advanced skills to support their child's emotional development and behavior. Researchers will compare 200 parents who take the program immediately to those on a waitlist, measuring changes in both parent and child mental health symptoms, emotion regulation, and family relationships up to 4 months later. The goal is to see if this parent-focused approach can improve children's anxiety, depression, and behavior problems.
