New math formula could make lithium blood tests more flexible for bipolar patients

NCT ID NCT07306039

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests a new method called eLi12 that estimates lithium levels in the blood even when the blood test isn't taken exactly 12 hours after the last dose. Researchers want to see if 200 people with bipolar disorder can reliably record when they took their lithium, and whether eLi12 gives more consistent results than standard tests. The goal is to make lithium monitoring more convenient for patients and clinicians.
