First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jul 01, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This Phase 3 trial tests whether pramipexole, a dopamine-boosting drug, can ease anhedonia (loss of pleasure) in people with bipolar depression. 126 participants will receive either pramipexole or a placebo alongside their usual mood stabilizer for 6 weeks. The study aims to improve mood and potentially reduce suicide risk.

What this could lead to
If successful, this could provide a new treatment option for bipolar depression, potentially reducing suffering and lowering suicide risk.
