Could earlier screening catch postpartum depression sooner?
NCT ID NCT07460063
First seen Mar 20, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study looks at whether screening new mothers for postpartum depression (PPD) at 2-3 weeks after birth, instead of the usual 6-8 weeks, can identify symptoms earlier. Researchers will randomly assign 428 women who gave birth at Massachusetts General Hospital to either early online screening or the standard 6-week screening. Participants will be followed for 6 months to compare outcomes.
