First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests a digital program called 'What Were We Thinking' (WWWT) to prevent postpartum depression and anxiety in first-time mothers in Chile. The program includes short videos, text message prompts, and a virtual group session. Researchers will compare mothers who receive the program to those who get usual care, measuring symptoms three months later.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
digital psychoeducational program (videos, text messaging, and group session)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a simple, scalable way to prevent postpartum depression and anxiety in new mothers.
What could go wrong
This is a relatively small trial (220 participants) in one country, so results may not apply elsewhere. The program is behavioral, so effects may be modest.
