New pacing technique could boost heart function in mild failure
NCT ID NCT06126081
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study compares a special pacemaker procedure called left bundle branch pacing (LBBP) plus standard heart failure drugs against drugs alone in 36 people with mild heart failure. The goal is to see if early pacing improves the heart's pumping ability more than medication. Participants will be followed for 6 months to measure changes in heart function.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Left bundle branch pacing (a pacemaker procedure) plus guideline-directed medical therapy (standard heart failure drugs)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could offer a more effective way to improve heart pumping function and reduce symptoms in certain heart failure patients.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with only 36 participants, so results may not apply widely. The procedure carries risks like infection or lead displacement.
