NCT ID NCT07235254
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study compares a modern silver foam dressing to a traditional dry silver dressing for chronic wound infections. Researchers will track how much the wound shrinks in two weeks and how many wounds fully heal. The goal is to find which dressing works better and costs less for patients and hospitals.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Silver dressings (MepilexAg foam vs dry Ag dressing)
What this could lead to
If this trial succeeds, it could show that one type of silver dressing is better at healing infected wounds and saving money.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with only 40 people, so results may not apply to everyone. The difference between dressings might be small or not meaningful.
