NCT ID NCT07627880
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looks at people with a sudden kidney blockage from a stone in their only working kidney. Doctors will randomly use either a tube placed through the bladder or one through the back to drain urine. The goal is to see which method helps kidney function recover better and makes later stone removal surgery more successful.

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- JJ ureteral stent or percutaneous nephrostomy tube
- What this could lead to
- If this trial succeeds, it could show which emergency drainage method better preserves kidney function and improves stone removal success.
