First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study tested two simple distraction methods—bubble blowing and a mental game with praise—to help children aged 7 to 12 feel less pain, fear, and anxiety during a blood draw. Over 200 kids took part, and their pain and fear levels were measured before and after the procedure. The goal was to find which technique works best to make needle sticks less scary.
