New stroke drug aims to boost brain recovery

Summary
This study is testing if an intravenous drug called Dimephosphon can help people recover better after a recent ischemic stroke. About 184 adults who had a stroke within the last 24-72 hours will receive either the drug or a placebo. Researchers will measure how well people recover their independence and brain function over 90 days.
