Summary

This pilot trial tests whether a brief, culturally adapted support message sent to a smartphone during moments of high stress can reduce the urge to smoke, vape, or eat in response to stress. About 115 gender and sexual minority adults in Dhaka will receive up to five check-ins per day over 24 days. When stress levels spike, the app randomly sends either a support message or nothing, and participants rate their urge shortly after. The goal is to see if this just-in-time intervention can ease cravings in real time and whether it can be delivered safely and privately in a high-stigma setting.
