Veterans with opioid addiction may soon get pain relief from a web program
NCT ID NCT07361432
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This Phase 3 trial will test a web-based program called IMPACT for 250 veterans who have both opioid use disorder and chronic pain. The program includes 9 online modules and weekly feedback from a coach, all done from home. The goal is to see if it reduces how much pain interferes with daily life, compared to standard care.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
web-based behavioral program (IMPACT) with coach feedback
What this could lead to
If it works, this could provide a convenient, home-based option to reduce pain interference and improve daily functioning for veterans with opioid use disorder.
What could go wrong
This is a Phase 3 trial, but it has not yet started recruiting. The digital program may not work for everyone, and results depend on veterans' engagement and access to technology.
