NCT ID NCT06472297
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tested a new way to prevent type 2 diabetes in people with pre-diabetes. Participants wore a continuous glucose monitor (CGM) on their arm and received AI-generated educational videos on their smartphone. The goal was to see if this combination could help lower average blood sugar levels. The study involved 23 Latino community health workers and was completed at the University of Southern California.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
continuous glucose monitor (CGM) device and AI-generated educational videos
What this could lead to
If it works, this approach could offer a practical, low-cost way to help people with pre-diabetes avoid developing type 2 diabetes.
What could go wrong
This was a very small study with only 23 participants, all from one community, so results may not apply to everyone. The intervention is still early and needs larger trials to confirm effectiveness.
