First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This completed Phase 4 trial tested two different doses (5 mcg vs 10 mcg) of dexmedetomidine added to standard spinal anesthesia for women having planned C-sections. The goal was to see which dose provides longer pain relief and muscle relaxation. Sixty women aged 20-40 participated, and researchers measured how long the anesthesia lasted and monitored heart rate and blood pressure.
