First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study looked at whether adding dexmedetomidine to standard pain relief after cancer surgery helps elderly patients (65-90 years old) live longer. The idea is that this medicine might reduce stress, inflammation, and confusion, which could improve immune function and lower the chance of cancer returning. The trial involved 1,500 participants and measured overall survival and cancer recurrence over time.
