Allergy pill could calm inflamed guts, study suggests

NCT ID NCT07333716

Summary

This study is testing if adding a common allergy medicine, desloratadine, to standard ulcerative colitis treatment helps patients feel better. It will involve 44 adults with mild-to-moderate disease who are already taking mesalamine. Researchers want to see if the drug reduces gut inflammation and improves symptoms by blocking certain immune signals.
