First seen Jan 12, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study tests whether adding the antihistamine desloratadine to standard treatment (mesalamine) can reduce inflammation and disease activity in people with mild to moderate ulcerative colitis. About 44 adults aged 18 to 65 who are already on mesalamine will take either desloratadine or a placebo for a set period. The goal is to see if this combination improves symptoms and lowers markers of inflammation.
