Tooth grafts battle bone loss after extraction

NCT ID NCT07242313

First seen Nov 21, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tests whether using processed tooth material (dentin) as a bone graft can better preserve the jawbone after a tooth is pulled. 45 adults needing a single upper back tooth removed will receive either a demineralized dentin graft, a mineralized dentin graft, or no graft. Over six months, the researchers will measure bone width, height, and density using 3D X-rays to see which approach works best for keeping the bone ready for a future dental implant.
