New bone graft aims to save jawbone after tooth loss
NCT ID NCT07638358
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This early-stage trial tests Neobone®, a bone graft material, to see if it helps preserve the jawbone after a tooth is pulled. Thirty adults who need a tooth extraction will either receive the graft or let the socket heal naturally. Researchers will use 3D scans to measure bone volume changes over six months.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Neobone® (Biphasic Calcium Phosphate) - a bone graft material
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a safe way to preserve jawbone shape after tooth removal, making future dental implants easier.
What could go wrong
This is a very early, small trial with only 30 people. The bone graft may not improve healing over natural recovery, and results may not apply to everyone.
