New bone putty aims to save your jaw after a tooth pull
NCT ID NCT07638319
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This early-stage trial tests whether a bone graft material called beta-TCP (Neocement Inject P®) can better preserve the jawbone after a tooth is pulled, compared to letting the socket heal naturally. Thirty adults needing a tooth extraction will be randomly assigned to receive the graft or no graft. Researchers will use 3D scans to measure bone volume changes over six months. The goal is to see if the graft helps maintain enough bone for future dental implants.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Beta-Tricalcium Phosphate (Neocement Inject P®)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a simple way to preserve jawbone after tooth extraction, making future dental implants easier and more successful.
What could go wrong
This is a very early, small study (30 people) testing a device already used in other contexts. Results may not be dramatic or apply to everyone, and bone graft materials can sometimes cause infection or poor healing.
