First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study tests whether giving people free boxes of fruits and vegetables along with nutrition tips can help manage conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, and obesity. About 300 adults from three Mississippi counties with high poverty and health disparities will take part. One group gets the produce and education right away, while the other group gets it later. The main goal is to see if this "food is medicine" approach lowers blood sugar levels.
