Greek sinusitis study aims to personalize treatment by analyzing inflammation

NCT ID NCT07663409

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jul 23, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study will collect and analyze nasal tissue from 230 Greek patients with chronic sinusitis (with or without nasal polyps) to identify different inflammation patterns, called endotypes. By understanding these patterns, researchers hope to better match patients with the most effective biologic treatments. The study is observational and does not test any new drug or intervention.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

What this could lead to
If successful, this study could help doctors choose more personalized treatments for chronic sinusitis patients based on their specific inflammation type.
What could go wrong
This is an observational study, not a treatment trial, so it won't directly test any new therapy. Results may not apply to non-Greek populations.
