First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested whether taking a 15-20 minute power nap each day for six weeks could improve sleep quality, reduce depression symptoms, and lower stress in healthy workers. Forty volunteers, including both daytime and shift workers, participated. Researchers measured changes using standard questionnaires before and after the napping period.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Daytime power napping (behavioral intervention)
What this could lead to
If effective, this could point toward a simple, free way to improve sleep quality and reduce stress and depressive symptoms in healthy workers.
What could go wrong
This is a small, completed study with only 40 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The intervention is short-term and relies on self-reported measures, which can be biased.
