New Immune-Targeting drug tested for stubborn cancers
NCT ID NCT05360680
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This early-phase trial tested a new drug called CUE-102 in 42 adults with certain advanced cancers (colorectal, gastric, pancreatic, or ovarian) that had returned or spread despite prior treatments. The drug is designed to help the immune system attack cancer cells that carry a specific marker called WT1. The main goals were to check safety, find the right dose, and see if the drug shows any signs of shrinking tumors.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
CUE-102 (a fusion protein designed to activate immune cells against WT1-positive tumors)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could point toward a new treatment option for certain hard-to-treat cancers that have returned or spread.
What could go wrong
This is a very early Phase 1 trial with only 42 participants, so the main goal is safety and dosing—not yet proving the drug works. Many early-stage cancer drugs fail to show enough benefit in later trials.
