Blood test spots hidden cancer cells after surgery, could change colorectal cancer care

NCT ID NCT03637686

First seen Feb 04, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a simple blood test can find tiny bits of cancer DNA left behind after surgery for colorectal cancer. Over 3,000 patients who had their cancer removed will give blood samples to see if the test can predict who is at high risk of the cancer coming back. The goal is to use this information to personalize follow-up care and possibly guide additional treatments.
