Heart scan showdown: can a simple CT beat the gold standard?

NCT ID NCT07286578

Summary

This study aims to see if using a special heart CT scan to plan a procedure is as good as or better than the current standard method, which uses an ultrasound probe inside the artery. Researchers will compare the two approaches in 700 patients with hardened, clogged heart arteries who need a stent. The main goal is to see if the CT-guided method leads to better-placed stents and is just as safe over one year.
