First seen Feb 13, 2026 · Last updated Jun 14, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study tests whether using cryotherapy (applying cold) right after a numbing shot can improve pain relief during root canal treatment for a severely inflamed tooth. About 100 adults with a painful lower premolar will receive either standard numbing or numbing plus a 5-minute cold application. The goal is to see if the cold helps reduce pain during the procedure.
