Can a simple touch test reveal hidden eye nerve damage?
NCT ID NCT05758753
First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study aims to see if a test called quantitative sensory testing (QST) can measure how well the nerves on the eye's surface are working. Researchers will use heat, cold, and vibration on the skin near the eye to check nerve responses in people with dry eye disease or corneal nerve damage. About 108 participants will undergo these tests along with their regular eye exams. The goal is to better understand eye pain and nerve function, not to provide a treatment.
