First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study is testing whether a series of online brain games (CogniFit) can improve memory, thinking skills, and emotional well-being in healthy older adults and those with mild cognitive impairment (MCI). Researchers will compare trained and untrained groups to see if any benefits transfer to everyday life. The trial involves 156 participants aged 65 and older in Spain.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Computerized cognitive training (CogniFit platform)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a simple, non-drug way to boost memory and emotional well-being in older adults, especially those with mild cognitive impairment.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study. The training may only improve the specific games played, not real-world memory or mood. Results may not apply to everyone.
