New study tests faster, less painful root canals for kids
NCT ID NCT07702877
First seen Jul 14, 2026 · Last updated Jul 15, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This trial compares two types of rotary files (Kedo-Nano Plus and Kedo-S Square) with traditional hand files for root canals in children's baby molars. About 60 healthy kids aged 5-8 with infected molars will receive a pulpectomy using one of the three tools. Researchers will check how well the filling material fills the root and measure pain levels up to 48 hours after treatment.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Pulpectomy (root canal treatment) using Kedo-Nano Plus rotary files, Kedo-S Square rotary files, or manual K-files
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could identify a faster, less painful root canal method for children, improving their dental experience and treatment outcomes.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage trial with only 60 children, so results may not apply to all kids or other teeth. Pain and filling quality can vary regardless of the tool used.
