First seen Nov 06, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study tests whether a new combination painkiller (Combogesic 325, which mixes ibuprofen and acetaminophen) works better than acetaminophen alone for teens aged 12 to 17 recovering from orthopedic surgery. About 180 teens will be randomly assigned to one of three groups, taking either 2 or 3 tablets of the combo or 2 tablets of acetaminophen every 6 hours. Pain levels will be tracked for 24 hours, and extra opioids can be given if needed.
