First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether combining cognitive training (brain games) with physical exercise can improve thinking, memory, and brain blood flow in people with chronic heart failure. Researchers will enroll 216 men and women aged 50 and older with stable heart failure. Participants will do both types of training several times a week for several weeks, and their cognitive function will be measured before and after.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
cognitive training and exercise training
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a non-drug way to improve thinking and memory in people with chronic heart failure.
What could go wrong
This is an early-stage study testing a combination of two behavioral interventions, so results may not be dramatic or apply to everyone. The training requires significant time commitment.
