Summary

This study looked at whether cooling the breathing tube used during surgery can lower the chance of a sore throat after waking up. 116 adults having planned surgery took part. The researchers compared a cooled tube to a standard one and checked for sore throat, trouble swallowing, and hoarseness one and four hours after the tube was removed.
