First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This study tests a drink made from Chios mastic, a natural resin, to see if it can reduce indigestion symptoms. Sixty adults with dyspepsia will drink either the mastic beverage or a placebo daily for three months. Researchers will measure changes in symptom severity and quality of life.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Chios mastic aqueous extract (mastic water) in a sparkling beverage
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a natural, side-effect-free drink to help manage indigestion symptoms.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with only 60 people, so results may not apply to everyone. The effect may be no better than placebo.
