NCT ID NCT07135531
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether continuous glucose monitors (CGMs) can improve blood sugar control in underserved people with type 2 diabetes who are uninsured or on Medicaid. Fifty participants will wear a CGM replaced every 14 days for 6 months. The goal is to see if this technology helps reduce health disparities and prevent long-term complications.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Continuous glucose monitor (CGM) device
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show that CGMs help underserved patients with type 2 diabetes better manage their blood sugar and reduce long-term complications.
What could go wrong
This is a small pilot study with only 50 participants, so results may not apply widely. The device must be replaced every 14 days, which could be burdensome.
