First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 02, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This early study tests a new device that uses short electrical pulses to treat atrial fibrillation (an irregular heartbeat) during heart surgery. About 30 adults aged 18-85 with a history of atrial fibrillation will receive the treatment. The goal is to see if the device safely creates a 'box' of scar tissue around the heart's veins to block abnormal signals.
