First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study tests whether giving cash payments to inner-city African Americans with poorly controlled type 2 diabetes can improve their blood sugar and quality of life. Participants are randomly assigned to receive money either for attending virtual diabetes education sessions or with no strings attached. The goal is to see if financial incentives encourage better self-care and health outcomes.
