Researchers will compare heart events like heart attacks or hospitalizations between those in the program and those getting usual care.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

structured cardio-oncology rehabilitation program (exercise, nutrition, psychosocial support, risk-factor management, education)

What this could lead to

If it works, this could provide an effective way to reduce heart problems in cancer survivors, improving their long-term health and quality of life.

What could go wrong

This is a new study that hasn't started yet, so results are uncertain. The program is intensive and may be hard for some people to stick with, and it's not yet known if it will clearly reduce heart events.
