First seen Jan 03, 2026 · Last updated May 06, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study looks at how much carbon dioxide is produced during upper GI endoscopy procedures. Researchers will compare the carbon footprint of diagnostic endoscopy for indigestion versus therapeutic endoscopy for stomach bleeding. About 75 adults aged 20-80 will take part, and no new treatments are being tested—just measuring the environmental impact of standard care.
