Scientists re-engineer Patients' own cells to hunt advanced cancers

NCT ID NCT04119024

Summary

This early-phase study is testing a new type of cell therapy for people with advanced solid tumors, including melanoma, that have spread and are not responding to standard treatments. Doctors take a patient's own immune cells, modify them in a lab to better recognize and attack cancer, and then infuse them back into the patient after a short course of chemotherapy. The main goals are to find a safe dose, see how long the cells last in the body, and check if they can shrink tumors.
