Doctors test Direct-to-Brain cell therapy for Kids' devastating tumors
NCT ID NCT04185038
Summary
This early-stage study is testing a new cell therapy for children and young adults with aggressive or returning brain tumors. Doctors collect a patient's own immune cells, engineer them in a lab to target a protein (B7H3) found on tumor cells, and then deliver these 'CAR T cells' directly into the brain through a special catheter. The main goals are to see if this approach is safe and possible to do, and to learn how the cells move and if they help fight the tumors.
