First seen Apr 08, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study is testing whether a quick, painless finger-prick test measuring lactate levels can help predict how serious a person's injuries are after a major accident, like a car crash or a high fall. The goal is to give emergency responders a simple, objective tool to decide which patients need the most urgent care. The study will involve 550 adults in France who are being treated by emergency medical teams at the scene.
