Chicken eggs help scientists grow patient tumors for cancer research

NCT ID NCT05472532

Summary

This study tested an automated system to grow metastatic cancer cells from patients inside chicken eggs. Researchers collected samples from 101 people with advanced prostate, breast, lung, ovarian, or gastric cancer to see if the automated process could successfully grow their cancer cells. The goal was to create a faster, more affordable research model to study how cancer grows and responds to treatments.
