Scientists test drug to deliberately trigger migraines

NCT ID NCT07340788

Summary

This study aims to understand what causes migraines by testing if a hormone-like drug called pramlintide can trigger a migraine attack. Researchers will give the drug or a placebo to 21 adults with migraine without aura and watch for 12 hours to see if a migraine starts. The goal is to learn more about the biological pathways involved in migraine to help develop future treatments.
