What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Zyn nicotine pouches (3 mg or 6 mg nicotine)

What this could lead to

If it works, this could show that nicotine pouches are a practical way for people to stop smoking cigarettes, reducing harm from smoking.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early study with only 50 people. Nicotine pouches are still addictive and may not help everyone quit smoking. Results may not apply to all smokers.
