First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated May 11, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This early-stage trial tests whether amlodipine, a blood pressure medication, can safely improve muscle strength and reduce stiffness in 20 adults with Myotonic Dystrophy Type 1. Participants take the drug for 10 weeks, with doses adjusted partway through. The main goal is to check safety, but researchers will also measure muscle function and daily living. Results will guide a larger future study.
