Scientists launch 9-Year hunt for clues to stop rare brain disease

NCT ID NCT05072483

Summary

This study aims to understand how CADASIL, a genetic disorder that damages small blood vessels and can lead to strokes and dementia, changes over time. Researchers will follow about 100 people with CADASIL and 40 healthy volunteers for 9 years, performing detailed tests on their brains, eyes, blood vessels, and blood. The goal is to gather information that could lead to future treatments, but this study itself does not test any new therapies.
