First test of Superbug-Fighting drug begins in humans

Summary
This is the first study in humans for a new drug called BWC0977, which is being developed to fight serious bacterial infections that resist current antibiotics. The main goal is to check if the drug is safe and how the body processes it in 48 healthy adult volunteers. Researchers will give increasing doses by IV to small groups and closely monitor for any side effects.
