NCT ID NCT06931886
First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether six weeks of daily breathing exercises against resistance can improve heart and lung function in people with pulmonary hypertension. Four participants will do 30 resisted breaths per day, five days a week. Researchers will measure changes in heart pressure, blood flow, and exercise capacity using tests already scheduled as part of routine care.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only โ not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- inspiratory muscle strength training (breathing exercises against resistance)
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could point toward a simple, drug-free way to improve exercise tolerance and heart function in people with pulmonary hypertension.
- What could go wrong
- This is a very small pilot study with only 4 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The training is short (6 weeks) and may not produce lasting benefits.
