Scientists hunt for brain cancer clues in tiny molecules

NCT ID NCT01849952

Summary

This study aimed to understand if measuring levels of a tiny molecule called microRNA-10b in brain tumor samples could help doctors predict patient survival and better classify different types of brain cancer. Researchers collected tumor, blood, and spinal fluid samples from 94 adults with gliomas (a type of brain tumor) who were having surgery. They analyzed these samples to see if higher levels of this molecule were linked to more aggressive tumors or shorter survival times.
